SSL Is No Longer Optional

If you have been paying attention to SEO ranking factors you will know that SSL has been a ranking signal in Google’s search algorithm for 2 years. However, if you care about how visitors perceive your website in 2017 SSL is no longer optional. SSL is no longer just for payment pages – it’s a mandatory site-wide feature. Soon, non-encrypted sites will be given negative security indicators and actively labeled “not secure” in the address bar. Chrome 56 is leading the charge against non-encrypted sites with the release of Chrome 56 available in January 2017. And that almost guarantees that other browsers will follow Google’s lead in the near future.

Avoid Penalization

At HostNexus we offer a complete range of SSL certificates. We have Domain Validation, Organization Validation and Extended Validation SSL certificates available from GeoTrust, Thawte and Comodo. Domain Validation certificates are cheap so there is no excuse not to be using one. We also offer free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates that you can install in a few clicks from your control panel. Let’s Encrypt certificates need to be installed every 3 months and being free they have no warranty and no Site Seal.

We even offer AutoInstall technology for commercial Domain Validation certificates so clients can install with just a few clicks. Plus we have a clear guide on how to install our SSL certificates manually. All the tools are there to help you make the switch to SSL and as always we are on stand-by to help you with any issues you may have.
