SquirrelMail

Working with Addresses

From inside SquirrelMail, select Addresses (either in the left frame or top of right frame). This will open the address book.

Add Address

Adding an address to the adress book is simple. Enter the information in the area provided and click the Add address button.

Note: Remember, the nickname must be unique to your address book.

Delete Address

To delete an address, locate it within your address book and select the checkbox in front of it. Click Delete selected.

Note: No confirmation will be displayed. Make sure to backup the address book prior to removing any addresses.

Edit Address

To edit an address, locate it within your address book and select the checkbox in front of it. Click Edit selected. Make any necessary changes and click Update Address.

Export Address Book

Click the Export CSV File button at the bottom of the right frame. You will be presented with a save file dialog. Make sure the save file open is selected and click OK. Choose where to save the file and click Save.

Import Address Book

Locate the Import CSV File section on the main address book page (bottom of right frame) and click Browse... Find the address book you wish to import and click Open.

Click Import CSV File.

Due to the way SquirrelMail exports the address book, we will need to make some changes before finishing the import. With the dropdown menus above the addresses, set them up as follows:

Nickname, Do Not Include, First Name, Last Name, Email, Additional Information

Additionally, select the checkbox in front of any addresses you wish to not import. Once completed, click Finish.

Note: If the nickname for a contact already exists, you will receive the following error message:

"There were errors uploading the data, as listed below. Entries not listed here were uploaded. [Personal address book] User "nickname" already exists"
