It's the end of the month. Where's the spam filter? Blah, blah, blah.

In the final testing stages I wasn't completely satisfied with some of the Plesk integration so rather than launch something that was incomplete I asked for more work to ne done. Adrian has assured me that it will be done by December 1st.

HostNexus is simply the best, most customer-centered hosting crew on the Internet. Timely upgrades much appreciated.

Thank Sean! We certainly try hard. HostNexus was built on its superior support.

Im liking HostNexus so far. Just signed up for a small account to trial things.

The features and services appear to be technically superior in every single possible way to many others and their commitment and dedication to building a kick-ass system and keeping up-to-date is fantastic.

Their brutal honesty, customer rapport, and transparency in their support is brilliant.

But, Im just going through an issue with Mike Bowers at the moment (top guy) as Im 2% dissatisfied, but it's such a large 2% that I can't ignore it. Those are response times. Once I've made a connection to the server, I can max out the download speed on my DSL line.

But making that connection is slow. If I clear out my cache, I have to wait for a connection to be made and then you can physically see each item loading, the request, the response, the delivery...

Just going to the NexusPortal or HostNexus websites however, things feel - erm - overloaded. Responses aren't, intermediate. Is there really such a difference between even 30ms (my sites in the UK) and 80ms (Host nexus?).

Maybe Im making too much out of nothing, maybe it's all in my head? It just feels... well... I don't know.

The major stumbling blocks I guess are the slowness portrayed in the plesk system.

You should try from Australia - response time are 240ms on average. But if your customer's are mostly USA based, then they get good speed, whereas hosting in the UK / Australia sees slower speeds for US customers.

The speed here when using Australia based servers (not Hostnexus, they don't have any) is phenominal. Simply because of the limited modem line that our telcos think is adequate to talk to the rest of hte world.

Hi Simon,

I sent you another email last night, did you get it? I am hoping that Adi can investigate your issue some more and come up with a solution. He is very good at things like this.

If we cannot speed things up for you, I will move you to another server and see if that improves things.

Thanks Simon!

Hi Mike,

Yeah, I received the email, thanks you very much.

I sent an email to Adi this morning (GMT) just awaiting a reply. I'm sure one of us will keep you informed with what's happening.

Cheers
Simon

Thumbs up password generator link missing

Been here for 7 years. Rely on my sites here for teaching and a few annual research surveys. Five star host. Never (not once) had a problem. Can't beat that. Much thanks to Lawrence and his constantly excellent crew here.

Just a quick post here to suggest that the password generator link appears to be missing from the new location of the htaccess tutorial:

Support | Tutorials | Htaccess | Password Protection

Glad to continue seeing hostnexus keep getting better and better with every year. Tip of the hat from Canada.
