You need to click on the mailname in Plesk and click on Spam Filter and then "Enable spam filtering" checkbox.

I am on graviton. I get about 150 spam emails a day. As far as I am concerned, SpamAssassin is total junk.

So the scoring system does not work? You have to train it? It needs to be fixed, updated or something. Since it is basically useless for catchign spam and has been for a while now.

The system is a bit cumbersome, and there is no such thing as a perfect spam filter, but it really does help.

yourtechnician - I checked your domain in Plesk and 2 mailnames have English added in "Chosen trusted languages". This will make any English mail by-pass teh spam filter. Another mailname has a score of 7. I always recommend a score of at least 4, and mark spam rather than set to delete so you can see how effective it is being.

Let your clients do it themselves

Ok if you have clients telling you they want to manage their own server-side spam filter settings, you first have to give them permission to do it:

You can set the permission to manage spam filter for the mail account using Plesk:

-- Login into Plesk.
-- Go to domains.
-- Select the domain.
-- Click on mail accounts.
-- Select the mail account.
-- Click on the permissions tab.
-- Allow permission to manage spam filter.

Then the client logs in to Plesk using their email account and email password.

(Thanks to James B at tech support for this method)

Hello!

I am on Electron.

I'm finally getting around to setting up some email accounts, and I'm simply not seeing any "large icon" for SPAM FILTERING under the main page for a domain in PLESK. I do see a grayed-out icon in the list of email accounts, and there's a grayed-out icon next to SPAM FILTERING in the email account details page, but when you hover over either of these, the side bar message is "You do not have permission to manage Spam Filter."

Also, under permissions, the only checkbox I'm seeing is for "access to control panel."

I have read through this thread and didn't see anything that answered my questions. Is this because I'm not on a Linux box?

Probably because you're not set up with permissions to manage spam filtering? Raise a trouble ticket to be sure...

Yes, that might be it. Usually:

Domain.com > mail > user@domain.com > Permissions

And there are 3 options (control panel, spam filter and AV).

Well, the best course of action is *always* to open a ticket, so I did exactly that and you guys IMMEDIATELY responded with action, changing the permissions on the master account so I could then see the icons. Very fast and very, very much appreciated.

The permissions simply didn't exist for individual users, so it must have been something not checked off for my "master" PLESK account.

Anyhow, all is well now - and let me just add I'm loving working with HostNexus!
