It will work but it needs some hams to be really accurate. With ham training it has extra variables with which to identify the spam but it will still identify spam - you will just get more false positives. But if that happens just log in and tell spam it was ham.

It is slow! Each time you do anything, you have to wait several minutes for processing. Allow several hours for training each mailbox, and have something else to do while you're waiting, since 99.5% of the time is spent waiting.

Can you explain the "Clear Spam Filter Database: Tool? Is that to get rid of messages you've trained on or does undo the training?

I gave up on this spam thing. Word of warning for anyone else, when I turned it off it broke my email boxes and tech support had to turn it back on to fix it (and they are now turning it off manually for me). Might be an isolated case, but be sure before turning it on. All in all a fustrating day for me, because when it broke, I lost about 30-40 emails because they came in with all content, sender, etc stripped. Argh.

FYI, the scoring in Plesk now appears to work, according to tech support, since they said it was why all of my incoming emails got marked spam after they "fixed" my broken email boxes, because the scores were set to 1.

dspam will work, if you work hard with it, for a long enough period of time. I've been working diligently on mine for 2+ weeks now. I have "trained" well over 2,000 e-mails, and it's now marking about 80% of my spam as spam, and I'm getting almost zero false positives.

The key is to "train" as much as you can. I go in 2 times a day and train my e-mails as either "It's Spam" or "It's Not Spam", and it seems to get a little better every 2-3 days. At this rate, I'll have it trained to catch 95%+ by summer. :-)

Spam filtering on Proton is off, and you cannot turn it on in the user's mailbox (no link, just states that it is 'off'). Any suggestions?

This means that it will clear the database of what has been marked as spam and ham previously.

"A spam filter database can become corrupt, or the data inside it unreliable. This may happen when many non-spam e-mails have been learned as spam, or vice versa, and the spam filter subsequently produces incorrect results. If the spam filter appears to be working incorrectly, clear its database and start afresh. To do this, click the Clear Spam Filter Database button."
