Domain propagation problem

Several days ago, I set the DNS for my domain to what was required by our account. Since then we have reset another domain to the same settings and it has propagated with no problems. The first one, lightbridgealliance.com com did not.

When it looked like there were problems with the propagation, I added additional DNS for where the domain was formerly hosted.

Overnight, the name has repropagated back to its original host but not to our Host Nexus account. We marked the site so we could tell which location was actually working.

We have several domains pointing correctly to the new nameservers (ns.r2j2studios.com and ns2.r2j2studios.com). Any ideas why this one may not be propagating?

Thanks in advance.

Well adding back in the old DNS will not help that is for sure. This will cause the main DNS server to be "rotated" throughout the four, bringing up the site on the old host at times and here at times.

If a second domain propagated fine, check the configuration for this domain against that and if it's the same than it might just take a little more time.

How many are several days ago?

Several days is two days ago. Yesterday we set up another domain in our reseller account and that one has propagated already.
I did double-check settings we used for other domains that are working. In fact we set up a few domains earlier in the week and all are ok, except for this one.

Once you pull the old DNS info off, have have someone who uses another ISP check to see which site is available. Sometimes things cache funny. I have run into that before when switching hosts, one ISP saw the old location, and one ISP saw the new. There was a day or so overlap.

One way to check for propgation is to ping the website address. Do not rely on the browser as they have caches (remembering the old site) and the ISP might also have a proxy-cache (even if you don't set it in your browser).

Even ping has a short cache, but will be a much more reliable test.

Also follow Cara's advice - test with two different ISPs. If not sure, just post the domain name here and you'll get quite a few replies going "see it" or "don't see it".

Thanks for all the help.
How do I ping the website address?

If anyone wants to lend a hand and check it out for us, the site is http://www.lightbridgealliance.com/sitemap.htm

Scroll all the way down and let me know if you see a (: below the "web design by..."
That is how we "marked" the relocated site.

I don't get the smiley faces either.

To ping (assuming a Windows computer), Click Start, Run. Type "Command" (no quotes) and press enter.

Then type "ping www.lightbridgealliance.com" and press enter.

It will show on screen pinging xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Check the IP address of your sever against the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to see which server you are looking at and how well it's responding.

No smiley either. Did you update the DNS to remove the old DNS info?

it appears that the name servers here have been removed, not the ones from your old host.
