Control Panel

Hello, Everyone!

Hopefully, someone can help me...

I have spent the last hour or so going through the Plesk Online Manual....and also have been playing around with my own control panel....and I just can't figure it out!

But, maybe it's just not possible....

When I add a new domain name through the control panel, I can't seem to find where I can put my customers information (name, address, phone # etc....)....It all seems to be listed under my main site....

Also....once I set it up, how do my customers access their control panel?

How would I (or one of my customers) set up a subdomain? Or a domain pointer?

Maybe I need someone to hold my hand and walk me through it, but I know that once I go through it once I will be fine....

Thanks in advance

Correct, you will have to create your own system to deal with admin. Even at server admin, we have to keep a client database. The most any CP could do is list personal details, domain name and user/pass. We need a database to handle package specifications, updates, billing cycles, current support issues and other things. You could make one out of Access or we could sell you one like ours for a reasonable price. Or you could just store info in Word docs or just write it down.

When you set up the domain, also click "Domain User". Check the box and assign a password. Then clients log in to Plesk with their sitename - e.g. theirdomain.com and the password you assigned.

Subs. When create the subdomain in Plesk, uncheck the "WWW" and input the subdomain name, e.g. subdomain.maindomain.com and configure hosting as normal.
Domain Pointer. Create the domain as normal in Plesk and under Hosting, select "Standard Forward". Then input the name of the domain you are pointing to.

**Lets go of hand**

I think plesk should make like all users can make their own subdomain. NexDog did u check, because maybe they made a modification (hack) for it that does that. That would save lot of time.

yea!

Nexdog correct me if I am wrong, but I read your post on another forum that you say ya will upgrade to HostGUI! Does that mean all plesks will be replaced with it or just new servers you buy? But I think plesk 2.5 should be fine! I hope it has total space and bandwidth usage for clients for resellers!

Hi,

We will always run 3 Plesk servers. We are going to try out HostGUI when it's released in 3-4 weeks. If it's as good as it looks then we may partner up with JagPC, the makers, in the future.

We're going to keep the Plesk servers for sure, but if HostGUI is really that good we'll just buy servers from them in the future.
