Domain reseller

I am looking at becoming a domain reseller at hostnexus using the enom reseller program that is advertised.
I came across this posting at HN, but I am not sure if it is still current.
I have a few questions:

1) Can anyone describe their experience with enom?
2) Does a reseller account come with some sort of reseller software?
3) In the above link, two choices are described:
the PDQ full commerce site, which has certain costs associated with it, and the API software solution, which requires a credit card processing system.
4) Can anyone suggest any other billing software that works well with a domain reseller site. I read about phpCoin on this forum, and could use more info about it.
5) Does anyone suggest setting up payments through paypal, or are there better choices.
6) I heard that enom requires a $100 downpayment. Is this a credit to the account, or is this a membership fee?

I just noticed that HN comes with osCommerce.
Is that adequate for a domain reseller site?
Thanks for any feedback.

1) Our experience has always een excellent.

2) You have a few choices. There is the API and you can connect to Enom via some third party script (just google for it). You can buy the Instant Reseller website which is what NexusDomains runs on and it costs $249.95/yr. Then there's a horrible free version called Registry Rocket which is very limited. PDQ is now Instant Reseller by the way.

4) WHMCS, ClientExec and AWBS all integrate with Enom.

5) I'm sure the above scripts allow PayPal as a form of payment but I haven't used any of them for that purpose.

6) The $100 is an account balance. Your domain purchases are taken out of this.

OsCommerce wouldn't work for a domain reseller site. I think AWBS is the best system if you just need a site to sell domains. Take a look:

AWBS - Advanced Webhost Billing System - formerly DRAMS

With the Enom hosted solutions (Instant Reseller and Registry Rocket) you use Enom's merchant facilities and you just collect the profit on the domain sale (the amount you sell for minus your cost for the domain and a small processing charge) and they release funds after 3 months.

With things like ClientExec, WHMCS and AWBS you provide the billing solution and the domain sale is taken from your account at Enom. We did this initially but when you start selling a large amount of domains it becomes a pain to continually refill your balance with thousands of dollars, hence we went the PDQ route (now Instant Reseller) - no balance to maintain and just collect checks about twice a year (but you can withdraw monthly after teh initial 3 months wait).

Thanks for the very complete answer Laurence.
Looks like I will have to do some homework now to decide how to proceed.
I also sent a question to sales about disk space. It used to be 30Gb for Nexus 3, but it now says unlimited. I don't need that much, but I am planning to use more on one of the sites than I am using right now.

Laurence,
I was trying to watch the training video here, but the link seems to have expired. I am talking about the video link itself. Any ideas?

Seems to be a licence issue. I'm working to get it fixed.
