Has there been any resolution to the Plesk login SSL issue. My clients have commented a few times on having to add exceptions in FF3 and the cert error message in IE. Those error messages don't make us look very credible as resellers at all...

I'm on Positron.

I could install a real certificate at something like: https://positron.dns-fusion.com:8443. But all your clients would have to login via that URL in order not to see any error messages.

I'd love to have a certificate on the server I'm on (which I'm told is Cancer yet my login says Epsilon?). There was some talk of being "transparent" about the link but I don't know of any login except control-access16 and I send my clients a link that looks like this for them to bookmark: https://epsilon.control-access16.com...me&passwd=

If I could continue doing that and have my clients not see the security warnings I'd be happy.

It would be https://cancer.dns-shield.com:8443 for you then.

I don't much like the "cancer" connotation -- unfortunately more than an astrological sign. Seems the Epsilon link works so I'll stick with that for now. Would be nice to have a link using my domain name AND a security cerficate to avoid the need for creating a security exception. Oh well. Maybe some day?

You can't install a certificate for your domain name on Plesk. I'm surprised as it's been an issue for, well, forever. I guess there is some super technical reason why not. It's out of HostNexus's control though, as it's a Plesk thing.

Cancer - I was suprised by the name too. But it doesn't appear to have bourhgt any bad omens (touch wood). It's been called like that for a year or so, I think.

It's because Plesk runs on its own web service or daemon (httpsd rather than httpd) so certs installed on your domain won't secure Plesk as it doesn't run on apache basically.

Sorry for the name (Cancer) but there will be a full set of 12 soon and it would be just weird to miss out The Crab.

It's not clear to me if a cert will eliminate the security message client's see when they try to login to Plesk? Seems it might. That would be helpful for me, as I am setting more and more client's up with control panel access lately. Would prefer they don't have to go through a security exception. With FF it's not just one click, but many.

In September 08 NexDog said: We get certs pretty cheap now so I don't mind doing all servers but I'd prefer to wait until we've finished all the migrations and server mergers.
