Running log analysis software on server?

Has anyone ever used anything other than Webalyzer (or Urchin) for their traffic reports?

Webalyzer gives WAY too much info for my clients limited attention spans. I'm looking for something I can customize to provide just a few key pieces of info (total visits without showing hits or geographical info or browser info, etc. etc.). Is it possible for these log file analyzers to run log files on the server, rather than downloading the log files and running them locally?

Good question and I'd be interested in knowing the answer too. Server side it just requires the log files to be readable which is easily done.

At work I use AWStats. It is pretty customizable and can run on the server. Has pretty, easy to read charts for those who don't like lots of data, with more indepth stuff for everyone else.

AWStats is pretty impressive -- and free! However it has a LOT of info which would make my clients heads spin. I'm going to see if I can find something where you can pick and choose what to show. I think Web Trends does that but it's way too pricey. I saw some video demos of this product and have to say it looks rather cool, but not sure that I can customize this either. But they offer conversion tracking which could be a useful tool. http://www.Logaholic.com

I'm pretty sure you can customize what AWStats shows as well, in the config file. I've done some customizing it on my end (though in my case, it was to add more info LOL)
