Question Uploading and chages on pages

I will signing up next week for virtnex-1 and I have a few clients that want me to manage their accounts they are christian organizations that will be adding pages to their sites, if I upload their main site and a week later I add a new page how do I ad a link to their main page, do I have to down load it using ws-ftp to my computer then ad the link to their main page and then reupload the page or what? What is the easiest way to make page updates?

Don't seem to recall any editor or File Manager. My guess is to have a local copy which you update and then upload again.

Am I correct? Not expecting a prize for correct answer.

Yeap unless you use frontpage with which you can edit on site if you really want too. Course if you accidently destroy or delete a page doing this, well then its gone for good so even with FP its better to edit offline and then upload.

Content Management System

Another option would be a content management system which would be useful depending on the nature and size of the sites in question and how many pages you will need to manage.

Two of the most popular are PostNuke and PHPNuke and there are multiple discussions on the boards about them if you search for either term.

Hope this helps,
Wen (who uses PostNuke on site already and will probably be using it on more...)

Sure.

The one using PostNuke is at http://www.frugalrecipes.com/html/

We are obviously still tweaking it and playing with different options and modules and blocks.

Ignore the ugly stuff on the right. We are creating blocks and modules for our network script for those who use PostNuke.

You can see another one we set up that we considered using, but decided against at http://www.contentcontent.com/pn_713/html/ although we may use the basic design somewhere else, but in different colors.

Wen (who was really happy with the color scheme at Frugal Recipes...)

PostNuke seems quite good. Perhaps I can try to use it on my page... when I get down to it. Hehe.
