Thanks for the advice but ive searched and browsed phpbbhacks and phpbb till the cows come home without any joy...

the nearest thing that they have to what i need is the attachment mod,which allows users to attach images to their posts.... problems are that all images are uploaded to one directory and the attachments data are installed into the database using the thread id...iv looked into possibly trying to adapt it but its too much for me...
i think maybe i will try one of the gallery modules.

Thanks for the offer,i wish i had waited now....ive since registered my domain at http://namecheap.com last night at 6pm(UK time)because they accept paypal.
now im just waiting for the domain to be directed to my host...
ive filled in the nameserver details....
how long does it usually take?

ive just pinged it and i get:
ping request could not find host www.myproprofile.com please check the name and try again
