IP.Board forum and payment questions

I'm looking for a new host for two sites. One of the sites has an IPB forum, but other than that they're both made up of all static pages. I don't know of any reason the forum shouldn't transfer fine to HostNexus, but am just wondering if anyone has successfully run an IP.Board forum from here? It's mentioned (somewhere?) on this site that phpBB and vBulletin have been used successfully, but I didn't see any mention of IP.Board. Part of my uneasiness is that I've always used Cpanel and have no experience with Plesk, and I'm afraid I'll "break" something in the process of switching. Are there any specific bumps in the road to know about when making the move from Cpanel to Plesk, particularly with a forum?

-- Also, I read on the site that credit card payment can be made through Paypal, but I'm wondering if a payment from a PayPal account would work (not using a credit card)? I try to use my PayPal account for costs related to the websites, in order to keep track of them more easily. I could use a credit card, but would rather use my PayPal account if possible.

Based on the requirements posted on their (InvisionPower's) website, I cannot see any reason it would not run here. I don't really see that there would be any real issues with the forum, as it's separate from the control panel used (unless it's installed through the control panel), which is usually not the case.

Thanks for the responses.

The only thing I've been concerned about (because of my own lack of knowledge) is getting the forum's database files set up correctly. I've been assured by others that once I get to phpMyadmin, everything will look the same as on Cpanel - The route to get there is just different.

Hi Beagle,

Thank you for your interest in HostNexus! i am confident that you would be very happy here with us.

I am assuming you are speaking of the PHP version of Invision Board? We have had some issues with the Perl/CGI version causing resource problems. PHP is fine though. Yes, phpMyAdmin looks and feels the same on both cPanel and Plesk. So you should be comfortable with it.

We accept both credit cards and PayPal. Credit cards are processed through our merchant account via WorldPay. Paypal is, well, Paypal. So no worries there.

I look forward to seeing you here!
