Linux/Coldfusion and ExpressionEngine

At my current Windows/CF host, I can run ExpressionEngine but I can't make the most out of it without some *nix stuff.

I'm looking for a place where I can bring together my most-used tools and make the most of them.

I'd like to run my favorite CMS, ExpressionEngine. It's a PHP system with the following requirements:
* PHP version 4.1 or newer.
* MySQL version 3.23.32 or newer.
* PHP must have XML support.
* Your server must have the following MySQL grant privileges (for tables): CREATE, ALTER, DROP

To take advantage of the image thumbnailing feature your server must support one of the three image manipulation protocols: GD, ImageMagick, NetPBM.

Too, I would need access to .htaccess and possibly mod_rewrite for search-engine friendly URL's.

On the same website I would like to use ColdFusion pages as well.

What web stats program is available?

All that is available.

"PHP must have XML support" - well, it has the extention compiled in.

I'm not sure any more of the name of the webstats packages used - so I'll need to leave someone else to answer that one.

Not sure if the CF server use the same or another webstat program by default, but Webalizer is the one that comes with the Plesk Control Panel.

I'm also interested if Expression Engine can run with no problems including using mod_rewrite to remove index.php from the URL.

Also, I'd like to know what ColdFusion tags are disabled.

Hi khomel,

If you choose Linux CF hosting then you can definitely have mod_rewrite as it's there by default in Apache. We have tried various solutions on Windows but haven't come up with something truly stable yet.
