allocating bandwidth per domain

When determining bandwidth for a given domain if the site goes over the allocation what happens? Does it stop displaying or does it just add up with usage from all domains in the account.

Example
domain x is allowed 2 gig/month but uses 4
domain y is allowed 4gig/month but uses 6
domain z allowed 2 gig/month but uses 1

total 11 gig for that month... package allows 10 so are you charged for 1 gig extra or will domains x and y stop displaying when they reach their limit?

I'm just curious how technical I need to get with the values as I'm setting them up. If I allocate too much I don't have any left for the others.

NexDog can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's the latter. And Plesk would display a warning in the control panel, which would clue you in to adjust the bandwidth allocations. I know it doesn't shut you down.

...you will receive notification when any of your domains breaches there allowances. The domains aren't shut down, it's up to you to determine the neccessary action. As the domains are still operating within the confines of your own allowance it's not an issue for us.

We are only concerned when you reach your limits for the account. But again, we don't shut you down. We would consult with you to find the best solution to fit your needs:

A) Buy an extra gig or 2 of space and/or transfer
B) Upgrade you to the next level
C) Suspend your account for the remainder of the month

As always, we do as we're told.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys! All the domains are mine so I wouldn't want them shut down. I was more concerned about being picky on allotments with sites that are meer shells at this point.

I've got one site that uses about 8 gig a month 3 months of the year then anywhere from 1ish-4.5... kinda tricky picking on that one

How do u allocate bandwidth

How do u allocate bandwidth??? i cant find where to change bandwidth to a domain in plesk...

At the moment i only have 1 domain listed that if i go into it and click on 'report' it says it has a traffic limit of 5000mb, but if at the top level of plesk i click prefernces, then permissions it say total traffic for client is 5500mb...

how do i change my domain so that it uses all 5500mb of available bandwidth
