Plesk hangs while creating new domain

Hi guys,

Every time I try to create a new domain on Gemini if I press next instead of finish Plesk hangs indefinitely. I have to refresh the page, it tells me it has created the domain successfully but I have to then adjust limits etc separately.

Not exactly a back breaking problem but it is a little annoying. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I presume you've raised a trouble ticket on it?

There is a Plesk bug currently on Windows but it shouldn't be happening on Linux. For windows we are awaiting a patch for Plesk 8.6 but if that isn't forthcoming I'm bumping up the upgrade to Plesk 9.5 which has a hotfix deployed for this bug already.

NexDog, did Plesk ever offer a patch for this bug?
If not, did you find any work around or manual fixes? I'm paranoid to upgrade plesk versions on live production servers as it's always resulted in severe trouble in the past.

I'm running a Plesk 8.3 / Windows Server 2003 server that recently started having this problem.

Any details you could provide would be greatly appreciated. (Patch #, etc.)

Thanks again.

Yea, there was a patch on both 8 and 9 that fixed this. It was due to Windows Update that installed some IIS 4 files if I remember correctly. You have to remove those files and the problem goes away.

Plesk (Parallels) support is MUCH better these days. Whereas before they wouldn't touch you without some form of contract, now they are very helpful. If you get your licence via a data center, ask your data center to contact Parallels support on your behalf. They helped us on this bug and have been helpful in diagnosing other issues like server slowness.
