In case reassurance is needed, every single time I've done something stupid and deleted a file by mistake and not been able to update from a local copy, HN techs have recovered a version for me. On one occasion the file was not appropriate and they magically produced another backup file that was.
That's not a reason that you shouldn't keep your own backups - you most definately should as the HN backups may not be as recent, in the event of total server failure it may take several hours of files to be restored but you need a bit of data "now" etc, - but my experience shows that those HN backups are happening.
