Question Allow FTP Users FULL site access/control - Please help :(

Ony one of my domains I have logged in as the FTP users and tried to upload files, and it says they don't have permission.

How do I give FTP users full permssion to changed all settings using FTP?

The closest I came to changing any setting for the FTP user was under "Setup", and there is a place that says "forbidden", but you can't change that.

Help, please!

They can't even open any folder in the FTP... this doesn't make any sense??? Why wouldn't they have access?

I'm assuming you're using Plesk (correct me if I'm wrong). When you setup the domain, you setup a username and password for FTP. This will allow them access to their account. Make sure they are uploading their files into the httpdocs folder.

Edit: No need to post in several places

FTP Access

Yes, an FTP username was set up with this account. When you log in to an FTP with that user and TRY to open httpdocs, nothing happens. Nothing happens when u try to open any folders. You also can not transfer anything to the site, it says permission denied. How do you changed the level of permissions for this FTP user?

Unhappy Ahhhh I was wrong...

It does allow me to change certain files through FTP or plesk. But some items in Plesk have BLACK permissions, you can't change them, and you can't delete the file... I get the message:

Error: Unable to remove file /httpdocs/templates//home/httpd/vhosts/capturedmoments-ia.com/httpdocs/templates/night_flower123

Even though I added that file... I shouild have permission to delete anything right?? I am trying to change the permssions on every file to 777, but it just won't let me...

Some files and folders change the owner (some scripts do this). Put in a ticket (top of page, support > ticket system) and tell them you need the permissions changed, giving them the domain.

Hope this helps!
