Installing Dada Mailing List on Windows?

Hi there,

First off, I want to set up Dada mailing list, and I really hope it's possible on Windows.

A client wants to set up a mailing list, and I am looking at setting up DaDa mail for him. It looks like DaDa mail is the way to go, and I've installed cgi for the web hosting account. I do notice the cgi-bin directory on the Windows hosting is beneath my httpdocs directory, so I don't see how to run the setup script from it.

I do have programming skills (C++, C#, etc), but I'm wondering if there is a FAQ or a few tips on installing Dada on Windows. I really just need to be pointed in the right direction and I'll figure out everything. My main questions are:

1. With cgi-bin being beneath httpdocs, how do I launch the setup scripts?
2. The install instructions talk about a command line tool. While using Bash was something I did in Linux and on the Mac, I have never used a shell on Windows to run anything like chmod on Windows. I've used the dos prompt to upload via ftp, write and run batch, perl, vbscript, etc, but nothing where I'm connecting to a remote server and executing cgi scripts.

I plan on editing the files on the server by opening them with FileZilla.

Since no one responded, I'll post my findings. The instructions for Dada are all for Linux, and it doesn't appear that Dada mail can be installed at all on windows servers. In fact, I didn't find anything out there to use for this purpose, and ended up using the Contant Contact business for my client's newsletter. This turned out to be a great solution, and I recommend the service.

However, if I get time I'll roll my own mailing list for Windows, but right now I don't see anything.

Per DadaMail's site:

"We do not recommend running Dada Mail on any Windows Server and it probably won't run."
