How's the weather?

Spring is slowly coming to Indiana, here in the U.S. It will be here officially on March 20th. We have been having some nice warm weather and even had a nasty tornado visit our small community a few weekends ago, the cleanup from that is ongoing. Several houses and barns were destroyed.

It has been a very dry winter for us, only a few snows. Our local fire departments have been having their hands full with all of the field fires during this warmer weather. They had five to put out on Tuesday and the local government was discussing a fire ban.

Then on Wednesday we had a great thunder and lightening storm that took out our phone line. It brought lots of rain so I guess we don't have to worry about a fire ban after all.

Last night the temps got down below freezing again, so we never know what to expect

How is the weather where you are?

I just realized that today IS March 20th, the first day of Spring. Another Dinosaur moment, don't even know what day it is.

It's the autumnal equinox here today and I must say that my city, Melbourne, is at its best in Autumn.

Perfect sunny days (not too much sun thankfully) long afternoons and evenings (get your cardigans down from on top of the wardrobe) and the best time of year for outdoor concerts

Raining, mad thunderstorms. But the cherry blosson will be out soon and that is the best time of the year. As they are everywhere, it is quite pretty.

Well it's mud season here.

We still have snow up to the windows and about 3 feet actually on the ground more in the woods.

It's been yet another long winter and we can't wait to go to Disney, tomorrow, and actually see some green and flowers.

Maybe, by the time we get back, there won't be too much snow left.

Last year there was still quite a bit on the deck out back when we got back but it didn't last long.

I have seen pictures of the snow in Maine, it looks dangerous to me. But I guess you all are use to it, since you have it like that all winter long every year. A trip to Florida would make it easier I guess.

We only got one major snow here this year, around one foot then a heavy ice storm hit and put a couple of inches of ice on the snow. Then we got another foot of snow. That all made of some interesting walking when you were out and about. It stayed on the ground for a few weeks because of the really cold weather.

Used to it? or just tolerate it.

This year I guess we are setting at the 108 inch mark. The ski slopes will be open probably until May if you do that type of thing.

But.... Yesterday was Maple Sugar Sunday in the state so the sap is running, a sure sign on spring.
