Is it true that search engine crawlers don''t always get to the bottom of the page?

How about using both types of text links, an invisible text link for the crawler at the top of the page, and a visible text link for humans at the bottom of the page, in addition to the java, flash, or image links?

Or would a site map negate the invisible links?

The sitemap is something you can provide the search engine, giving them a roadmap of your site. It might also be something useful to site visitors.

The text links at the bottom are more for site visitors instead of search engines. Invisible links might get you in a bit of trouble with some search engines.

Moved from MI gosh, 4 1/2 years ago..... and was with HN back there too.... Love the new look to the forum and HN site.

Hi Reena, good to see an old face. Also you've been with us a whopping 7 years. Time flies when you're having fun.

This is the place to be. We just need to get more people involved.

I'd suggest adding little site tips and such that have worked for you, and hopefully we can get others contributing as well.

I would love it if we could get this place active like times of old. I see you've posted lots of tips and that is awesome. Would be great if other people did the same.

I'm still here everyday.

I'm new except for some posts on the forum last winter when I was looking for a new place to host. My host finally straightened out the problems they had with their servers so I stayed put. But I kept HostNexus bookmarked in case I ever started a new site. this was the only host I'd seen that didn't have *somebody* ranting at them in the user forum about some problem, and my current host also sets up a new account for each domain you add, so it gets to be a bit much if you have several sites. That means you *pay* for each domain hosted, too.

I registered a couple of new domains this morning, and this afternoon signed up for the "Relaunch Special" here and am just waiting for the activation notice to get my first site uploaded. I'm not techy, so I'm hoping plesk is easy to deal with (up until now I've only used cpanel).
