MySQL 5 Upgrade
In 24 hours from now at 2am (December 2nd) we will be undertaking a MySQL 5 upgrade on Omikron. There should be no downtime and your MySQL 4 databases should be compatible with MySQL 5 (99.5% of the time). If you have any concerns please contact us and alternatively if you find any issues with your applications after the upgrade then let us know and we can normally fix any such issues.
MySQL 5 is already deployed on most other servers so this is by no means an out of the ordinary upgrade. MySQL 5 fixes many bugs in MySQL and offers significant performance increases.
