Scheduled Maintenance

From Rackspace (our data center):
Quote:
This is a notice to inform you about the scheduled maintenance in our San Antonio, Texas IDC. Although we will make every effort to avoid any service interruption, it has become necessary for us to perform maintenance that could temporarily disrupt or degrade service for some customers.

The maintenance window is scheduled from 12:05 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday June 2, 2002 in the United States, Central Standard Time. During this maintenance window, Rackspace will be performing the following activities:

-Upgrade hardware and software on network equipment.
-Add 2 new Cisco Catalyst 6500 switches to increase LAN capacity. Add 1 new Cisco GSR 12000 router to increase WAN capacity.

We'll strive to minimize downtime, however, you may experience 10 to 15 minute outages during this period. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Sorry for any inconvienience this may cause.

Isn't this grand? I just launched my site to my mailing list, what a lonely grand opening party!
And no prompt replies to my trouble ticket or email either.
Thank you for replying, misery loves company, want some warm champagne?

it's a little early...

thanks for the offer of the champagne, but here in melbourne it's a tad on the early side...

congratulations on your site's launch, despite it not being visible to the internet public... i'll imagine what it looks like... *closes eyes* wow, i love what you've done with it!

all kidding aside, i agree that the timing couldn't be worse. i have a freelance web design site sub-hosted under my main site, and i was just about to send out a whole lot of job applications! think i'll wait a bit before i send them now.

good luck with the site, i'll be sure to check it out when we're up and running again.
