Data Center Outage

Hi HN Members!

Many apologies for the outage today that affected many, many clients on all servers at FortressITX. We had some network issues with our upstream providers that had to be resolved. The datacenter was accessible from some locations and not others. Network connectivity resumed gradually shortly after it went down but took some time to be fully restored. The problem was mainly with nLayer and it took them some time to get the routes straightened out.

Double apology goes out to clients on Zeta that also suffered a hard drive failure yesterday. Data was restored to a new drive without loss but I'm sure both downtime events combined to make a very frustrating experience. This is the first drive failure we've had in 18 months so it's not a common occurence.

These network issues are also not a common occurence and I believe this is the first such major incidence since we moved to the new data center last year.

Thanks all for your restraint during this frustrating issue. Mike is normally around on that shift to calm nerves on chat and on the forum but he was called away on a opersonal emergency. Adrian worked hard to clear the 120 or tickets quickly!
