Alpha also upgraded

Alpha has also been upgraded. I just sent out this email:

Alpha has also been upgraded to PSA 2.5. We are noticing an abnormal amount of Plesk activity that is really affecting the server. The upgrade has yet again wiped out alot of our modifications and we are racing to put everything back.

The largest job is adding indexes to the PSA database. Plesk comes with it's main database unindexed and with a busy server like Alpha, we need to add some indexes to speed up certain rebuilds.

Whenever you hit Update in Plesk, it is triggering an Apache rebuild which takes the server (Apache webserver)offline for a few seconds. With the indexes the rebuild really does take a few seconds but without it is taking longer. And now, with hundreds of people hitting Update, Apache is having a nightmare.

So if you need to modify your Plesk accounts, please wait a while. Resellers, advise your clients too, please.
