Email / Dns: Spf records and reverse dns

One of my old hosts automatically installs spf records/reverse dns for each domain. That was a nice touch.

Somehow, several of my clients found out about dnsreport.com and it says fail on several dns settings. I cant figure out how properly configure them via plesk dns editor. Support tells me the dns is fine. Yes, its ok .. but its not really how it could be set. These are 2 dns settings here.. what do they need to be. Please publish a tutorial or make that info really easy to find.

When those settings aren't perfect.. it affects email delivery rates.
Remember we are limited to what Plesk offers us. So the forwarding thing would only appear if they added it. I don't see anything wrong with the Spam Filter. I get next to zero spam in my mailbox and I haven't touched a spam setting for two years. You have spam scoring, training and filters.

You can add SPF records if you are brave enough to use it. I understand email and DNS and decided not to use SPF because it can cause big issues and I want all my mail.

Reverse DNS - we can add rDNS to any IPs you want. But you only need rDNS on an IP that sends mail (all added) and occasionally to register nameservers on uncommon TLDs.

For DNS the solution is simple. When you create a domain Plesk adds two default records. These are an A record for ns.domain.com and an NS record for ns.domain.com. You need to delete those and replace with 2 NS records for ns/ns2.yourdomain.com (being the nameserver domain).

Using Webmail right now, is basic..
Please explain what a better email system is. You have Horde or SquirrelMail and can use any Email client (outlook etc).

What do I want to see?

I would like to see all of these changes that you have been promising for more than a year now.

I'm not mad. Just saying. Why don't you actually get done what you've been trying to get done, THEN do what we want...

Well, slowly but surely....

New private racks.....check.
Remote Reboot Ports...check.
New backup system....half-check.

Which of the changes that we've talked about do you most want to see?

The coldfusion reseller plans dont leave much room to breathe when allocating disk space.

So, I have very limited room to work with, say 100 mb per site. Even moderate usage added up with messages caught by the spam filters fill this up quick. I just got 2 warning that accounts had gone over the limit.

Since there is no way to delete messages on forward, I get warnings all the time that email is building up. There is no easy way to manage this that I have found... its quite annoying and time consuming to stay on top of.

Also, you couldn't design an uglier webmail default interface if you tried. Is there any way to upgrade the 'default' install we get... man that would be nice.

One of my other hosting providers offers this one:
http://atmail.com/webmail_client.php

Sweetest web based email I've used so far...

We are limited to what SquirrelMail and Horde offers as far as thier interface. Since we do not own these products, we cannot change them.

As for the changes we have promised, they are all in the works - it simply has taken longer than we anticipated. We will not implement something new, unless we know we have done it right and can support it properly.

We do appreciate your patience though and I can understand some frustrations. i will do my best to keep everyone better posted on these in future.

I'll get new CF plans published asap. No need to wait for the new site for that.

Thanks,
I think the Outlook Synch feature would be great for corporate clients

Personally I like Horde more than the Squirrel: Calendar, Notes, cleaner interface.
