Hi all at HN,

One of my clients have been having some problems with CF on Meson the last few weeks. It seems that, at least one day a week for around an hour CF stops. The machine seems to be rebooted and it takes a a long time for CF to come back up. Right now the server monitor page says that everything is back up, but nothing is happening and this has been happening for the last half hour. Could you tell me why it is taking so long for CF to start back up?

Hi Richard,

CF will always need a restart once a week and often the server will need a reboot as you experience. CF tends to cling to server resources and not relinquish everything fully even when a process is finished. Generally CF won't take an hour to restart but a server can take a while to restart for a variety of issues (if remote reboot fails then we have to contact the data center to manually reboot, check disks, etc).

The server monitor page caches results every 10 minutes to improve load speeds. Definitely should have updated within 30 minutes. I'll take a look and test it.
