Why is this going on??? 24 Hours is just ridiculous. I just cannot afford this downtime. I cannot believe that there are no updates. This is completely unprofessional.

What about the emails? Can anyone fill me in, are they lost or will we be able to get them.

One of my bigger clients was supposed to have several emails come in yesterday from potential clients for them. Lot of money at stake and it makes them look bad.

Can we get the emails or not?

McKenzie

This is what I just received via email from the helpdesk. I don't know what this means - if it's still going to take many more hours or what. Day 2 begins.

We are working on this in top priority. We are absolutely furious over all of this and obviously as frustrated as you must be.

As the current status, when we tried to install the OS, the drive which have all client information is not recognizing, so we have to copy all the data to another drive and install the OS there.

But the copying is taking very huge time, it may take hours to complete.

Once the copying is over we could install the plesk and essential utilities and soon the server will back online.

We will get back to you with the update.

Why is there not a customer service phone number and all we have is email/ticket submitting? It would be nice to actually speak to someone instead of waiting for an update.

Good point. I don't understand why they aren't posting here with any explanations as to this downtime.

Another update:
Apologies for all the inconvenience caused.

As you may be aware the server was infected by a virus some weeks ago and thats why the server have gone offline some time frequently.

We have removed that virus, but it already have damaged some OS files, so when ever the server is rebooted the OS is not recognized. So we decided to reinstall the OS once and for all.
But to make matter worse the C drive where the OS is to be installed is not recognized by windows, but it is the D drive which is recognized as OS drive.

In order to make our clients data safe, all we can do it copy the files to a new drive and make a fresh install. But it is taking some much time to complete which we haven't thought about in our near dreams. There are tons of files and directories inside that drive, if we loose that drive all our client info will be lost.

Now, the copying is about to finish, the last directory is being copied.

Once completed we will go ahead with plesk installation.

Once again sorry for all the inconvenience caused and thanks for understanding the situation.

Thanks for the update msheffi972! Kind of sad that we have to post our responses here to let other users know the status.

To the Datacenter:
It might be a wise idea to start some sort of backup procedure in case something like this happens again.

This line really scares me --> "There are tons of files and directories inside that drive, if we loose that drive all our client info will be lost."

How can it be possible that all client info is stored on ONE DRIVE??? How can you possibly rely upon one drive for data as sensitive as this? This makes me question my affiliation with this company even further.

Please adress ASAP!
