Angry Is there a Guru in the house?

I'm upgrading all my wordpress sites to the latest (and fabulous) version

I'm upgrading through the platform itself, not by using ftp, just one of the reasons why WP is so fabulous

So far I've zapped through 9 of them but am stuck on a particular site which gives me the message
Quote:
Unable to locate WordPress Root directory : Installation Failed
Now this site is no different from any other, it just gives me this strange and most unwelcome message. So I don't see it as a WP problem but a problem with the files on the server.

Is there a guru who could give me a clue?

Ack, would love to provide the answer but not sure I have it. Are you sure the WP installation is defined correctly in the config script?

It must be - it's been running along for 12 months perfectly happily
It wouldn't work at all if the config weren't working. I think ....

I've been thinking about this.

Most root directories for a WP are in something like 'blog' or 'wordpress' but I always put mine in directly to httpdocs

I've done this with 39 WP installations - I mean the 39 most recent installations

They all upgrade through the built-in upgrader, with this one exception

Is it a curse from an ancient god do you think? Or a force of nature?

Anyhow, I installed the new version manually on the recalcitrant blog. I wasn't going to argue with it.

But what a weird thing!

I had to manual upgrade my two site too. For some reason the auto upgrade would not work for me and gave me the error you got.

Strange isn't it.

Not really a casus bellum, just annoying. I find it such a pain to ftp a WP, the uploads break all the time and I can spend over an hour getting it to upload. All those small files are the trouble I suppose

Yes it is. I'm not exactly on the connection here I was in Pennsylvania so it's a big pain. Then again what else can I do.
