Drupal and Ubercart

I have someone wanting a site built on Drupal framework and Ubercart shopping cart. Anyone have experience and opinions to offer?

I see Drupal 4.6.3 is an application I can install - but - apparently not with PHP 5. Can an updated Drupal compatible with PHP 5 and Ubercart be installed?

Thanks for any help, advice, opinions you can offer. I'm a dabbler - I know a little about a lot of things and am expert in none! ha

Per Drupal's Website:

Note: Drupal works with PHP 4 & 5. If you need support for the newest PHP 5.2, however, you must use Drupal 6.0 (and higher) or Drupal 5.1 (and higher)

So it looks like version 5.1 (or higher) or 6.0 (or higher) will work with PHP 5.

Found this page on Drupal's site about Ubercart (complete with installation instructions):

Mike, thanks for the quick response. I'm sorry I didn't communicate clearly.

I have been learning Drupal and Ubercart that I loaded on my local machine.

I need to get it loaded onto my web server to create a test site that can be accessed by others.

Drupal 4.6.3 is listed in my Install Site Application, but Ubercart is not listed.

When I tried to install Drupal, I get the error message "Your PHP version (5.2.4) is not suitable for the application."

Drupal.org says "As of Drupal 4.6, the CMS requires PHP version 4.3.3+ (PHP 5 is supported for the 4.6 release). "

So, I guess my question is: Can the Drupal version available thru HostNexus be upgraded? Or, am I allowed to install Drupal and Ubercart manually? Would I be allowed to install additional Drupal or Ubercart modules?

Thanks in advance for any info.

If you're using the Application Vault, no that cannot be upgraded as it is part of Plesk. However, you can install Drupal and Ubercart yourself manually. With a manual install of Drupal you should be able to add in any module you wish (provided the requirements are met by the server [php version, mysql, etc.)

I used them once but there is this other company "Hostnexus" That has way better support and there prices are good, $3.95 per month that is just $47.40 a year. You should check them out.
