is OsCommerce php5 compatible?

I discovered my osCommerce cart on Zeta was not working this morning. Couldn't move off the index page and when you clicked on a product in "best sellers" or "new products" got a product does not exist page. Contacted support and they got it working pretty quickly (said they switched Zeta back to php4??) but said I would need to upgrade it to a php5 compatible version asap.

The version I have (2.2ms2) was installed from the application vault on the server about a year ago and that version is still the one available in there now.

My understanding is that this osCommerce version is php5 compatible. Is this not so?

I hope so because upgrading it is a big job for me and could take me months due to time availability.

It is compatible but you might need to upgrade.

There was a problem with register globals being on or off or something, which your tech guys corrected but I still could not access the admin control panel so I upgraded to osCommerce 2.2RC1 – a 2007 release.

I still cant access the Admin Control panel. I get a 404 "the Page cannot be found" error.

I checked and all the files are there including the admin index page.

At one stage, when they were attempting to help resolve the problem, they briefly switched back to php4 and it worked ok.

Can you or anyone help here?
