Shopping Cart

I'm looking for a shopping cart solution. Something easy to use and setup. I was looking into osCommerce but I'm not a programmer. Any suggestions?

thanks

osCommerce is probably the best for everyday use. You don't need to be a programmer; it's just that is has loads of options to enable you to set it up and integrate it.

I was talking the other day to someone who said they used ZenCart, but had similar problems (that it took too long to customise). But you may want to check that out?

Is there a shopping cart only option with osCommerce? I set-up the full osCommerce in a test environment but haven't figured out a way to use just the cart by itself. I'm wanting to create a non osCommerce site with just a few products and a "buy now" button that would then take you to an osCommerce page. I want something that can integrate well with the client's existing site design and don't particularly like using PayPal or similar services. Any thoughts?

The two options you've got are really osCommerce and ZenCart; unfortuntely both of then a full featured systems and not easy to strip out and include in other's site as a partial solution.

Not aware of any other solution so I just write them when needed. It's not easy, either, writing somethign generic for mutiple sites so they end up being pretty custom written.

Here is what I use for my clients

http://www.ecommercetemplates.com/

They have templates and they have a generic cart that I use to integrate into exsisting sites. Very easy to implement. I use the ASP version and all the coding is in folders. I input all the folders then I just use includes files in the site were I want the functions. They also support several payment providers etc. Great applications.

I just set up an eample here : http://www.realtysitesonline.com ignor the domain name only one I had to upload to. Through the site togather put the include files and theres your shopping cart. The admin back end for the cart can be tested on there site.

Hopes this helps someone....

I can concur. Tried setting up ZenCart (went fine) but customizing was a beast and ended up giving up on it.
