For sure a lot of internet marketers work with Twitter, Facebook and other social media. But you can ignore them, don't add them as friends and that's all. Totally agree with the author, Twitter is more like a facebook fan page, don't like it

Umm, people.. you know by now that the "people" you follow are very likely not who they claim?? so, you've been reading Tweets from major business people huh? not stay-at-home Tweet spammers? hey don't knock my short-lived addition to Paris Hilton's Tweet log! I'm so totally sure she's personally cracking wise like, that's hot man.. it's a fantasy, not a harmful one but sorta sad. The only business model is for the marketing people writing the Tweets.

damn that was intense. I agree with most of what you said, but I still feel Twitter is a very powerful tool. 70% of Twitter is ME ME ME, but what about the people that are YOU YOU YOU. It is when you genuinely are posting, to educate or even entertain your audience that it becomes an amazing source of information.
.-= Sean Meyer´s last blog ..<a href="http://twitter.com/HardcoreCanada/statuses/9133835744" rel="nofollow">HardcoreCanada: The chances of having the birthday on the same day as your partner is 1/730 not that crazy. But I have never met one. /discuss #fb #sobobo</a> =-.

Twitter could monetize very easily. They could charge $50 per year for a premium account. Which is anything over 1,000 followers. They could figure out a way to monetize the search function. Twitter is now one of the biggest market research.

@mr. meeble - nice blog post and thaks for the link!

@Jon - thanks for the comment. I read another interesting article the other day that also bashes Guy Kawasaki and his tactics (I just gave him one line though):

<a href="http://www.traffick.com/2009/03/is-guy-kawasaki-singlehandedly-ruining.asp" rel="nofollow">Is Guy Kawasaki Singlehandedly Ruining Twitter</a>

Funny thing is the author of the post is in the industry that abuses Twitter the most.
