Boson File Maintenance – Wednesday 2am 25th January EST

We have a drive being reported in a degraded state on Boson. We attempted to replace the drive but due to an irregularity in the RAID array setup we ended up replacing the wrong drive. We need to take the server down and open the case to examine the array setup and make sure the correct drive is replaced.

This will happen on Wednesday at 2am 25th January EST and the downtime window is expected to last 30 minutes.

PION Server Plesk Upgrade – Saturday 21st January 2am EST

On Saturday 21st January at 2am EST we will be upgrading Plesk on PION from version 9.5.3 to 9.5.4. Expected downtime is 2 hours for this maintenance window. PION Server Plesk Upgrade – Saturday 21st January 2am EST

ARIES – Restore Complete

ARIES server crashed a few hours ago and prompted a File System Check (FSCK) upon reboot. The FSCK completed but has cause some problems, namely some corruption of the critical /usr directory that hold many OS files and libraries. We are attempting to restore this partition from a rescue CD. Will update you when we know more.

UPDATE: Most services have been restored and the main two things left are:

1) Email – working to get this back up right now

2) PHP – Some modules need to be compiled in. This will be done after mail is fixed.

[b]UPDATE:[/b] Aries should be 95% back to normal. Websites are up, mail is flowing and Plesk is working. We still have a few things to install (few perl/PHP modules) but these things should affect most people. If you notice something wrong with any sites or email please let us know immediately by emailing support@hostnexus.com or submitting a ticket via the online Helpdesk.

ARIES – Restore Complete

[RESOLVED] ELECTRON – 2gb Memory Upgrade – 3am Thursday 8th December 2011 EST

Tomorrow night (3am Thursday 8th December 2011 EST) we will be taking Electron down to perform a 2gb memory upgrade. The server has reached it’s current capacity and needs this upgrade to improve overall stability. Downtime should be around 30 minutes.

Update: This has been completed. While teh maintenance was done we found an issue with a drive and replaced it. The RAID 10 array is rebuilding which will cause some slowness for 8 hours approx.
